OUR COMMITMENT
- Crisis Response: During the pandemic, Dr. Brown led community service efforts, addressing immediate needs from COVID-19, Hurricane Ida, and the Texas power outage. Partnering with local organizations and leaders, he ensured vital resources reached affected communities in times of crisis.
- Addressing Systemic Issues: We examine public policy gaps, to develop sustainable solutions that address poverty’s root causes.
- Eradicate Poverty: Inspired by Dr. King's vision we advocate for a constitutional amendment to eradicate poverty, believing it can be abolished just as slavery was, through collective action and enduring commitment.
ABOUT NEW PURPOSE
New Purpose began in 2016 as a church, founded by Rev. Dr. Kevin Brown with a deep commitment to serving the community. However, it quickly became clear to Dr. Brown that the mission extended far beyond the walls of a church. He realized that eradicating poverty and fostering a society where everyone, regardless of their background, can thrive required a larger, more strategic approach.
This revelation led him to seek partnerships and collaborations that would amplify the impact of his vision. In 2020, Rev. Dr. Kevin Brown founded New Purpose with a deep vision, to eradicate poverty in America and build a society where everyone, regardless of their background, has the opportunity to thrive.Â
